1. When these terms apply
These Buyer Terms supplement the Terms of Service. If you hire, message for the purpose of hiring, fund escrow, or receive invoices as a client, you agree to them. Last updated 1 September 2026.
2. Your duties
- Provide a clear brief, timely feedback, and access reasonably needed for the Seller to perform.
- Pay the agreed amount through approved Platform methods when escrow or invoices require it. Do not ask Sellers to circumvent fees in breach of the Terms.
- Do not demand work that is illegal in the place of performance or in your country.
- Respect the Seller's human rights, working-time limits that apply to them, and the Modern Slavery statement.
- If you are hiring as a business, you are responsible for your own procurement, data-protection (you may be a controller of personal data you collect from a Seller), and contractor-classification analysis.
- Do not use interviews, briefs, or "test tasks" to obtain free substantial work under the guise of hiring.
3. Acceptance of work
Review deliverables within the order window. Silence after the window may be treated as acceptance for escrow release, except where consumer law or the order says otherwise, or you opened a dispute in time.
4. Your own customers
If you put your customers' personal data into SydGiG intake or files, you must have a lawful basis and any required notices or DPAs. You are the controller of that customer data.
